Accessibility at Leigh Film Factory

Our venue is fully accessible, with the following facilities;

There are 4 disabled parking spaces alongside the main entrance to Leigh Spinners Mill. During weekdays, access is obstructed by a barrier which we can raise on request.

if you plan on attending on a weekday, please ring our telephone number and we will raise the barrier to give you access. At weekends, the barrier is raised and access is unrestricted.
There is ramp access into Leigh Spinners Mill. Once you have reached the 4th floor via the lift, Leigh Film Factory offers entirely step free access to our Foyer and Auditorium.

There are three disabled seating positions at the front of the auditorium (row 'AA') which can be booked online. Seats AA1 and AA10 are physical seats for an able-bodied companion.

The entire first row of seats (row 'A') are all accessible step free.
There is a lift in the Mill which can be used to access the 4th floor. When we are hosting events, we usually aim to have an LFF volunteer manning this lift.
There is a disabled toilet on floor 4 alongside the able bodied facilities.
The auditorium contains a Hearing Loop, please set your hearing aids to use this.

The loop carries the dialog channel of all films shown but also includes some volume from the Left & Right channels as well.
Audio description is currently planned to become available later this year, 2025.
Assistance dogs (also referred to as service dogs, guide or hearing dogs) are welcome in our cinema. If you would like to bring your assistance dog into our auditorium, let us know before you book your ticket so we can advise the most appropriate seating.

If possible, it would be helpful to our staff if your assistance dog were to wear a recognisable leash/collar or harness.

Please note, only appropriately trained assistance dogs are allowed at Leigh Film Factory. As indicated by The Equality and Human Rights Commission, assistance animals are generally expected to be highly trained, will sit or lie quietly on the floor next to their owner and will not wander freely around the premises.

If your assistance animal does not behave in this way or causes a disturbance (other than when tasking), they may not be allowed to enter or remain in our cinema.
